Justsystems Joins Forces With IBM DB2 to Offer Platform for Native XML Applications.
Atlanta, GA - November 16, 2005 - Today at the XML 2005 Conference & Expo, Atlanta, Justsystems, Inc., a leading enterprise software provider, announced that it was working with IBM to deliver a comprehensive solution for native XML applications.
The solution is based on IBM's next version of DB2, code-named "Viper". The combination of Viper and Justsystems' xfy front-end application platform will provide native support for XML content handling and business intelligence.
Internet applications have evolved from stand-alone, thick-client solutions toward thinner, Web-based services that are increasingly platform-independent. XML is a key enabling technology that continues to accelerate this growth process. Multi-structured databases that can store and manage both traditional relational data and native XML documents will be an essential component in future computing architectures.

xfy Enterprise Solution for DB2 9 (*1) serves as a platform for creating and running native XML applications extremely rapidly. It is based on xfy Basic Edition 1.0, released in Oct. 2005, which elevated XML beyond its beginnings as a document and data format. On the xfy platform, a document becomes the fundamental executable unit of an XML application - an "XML Object" that contains both data and business logic.
xfy Enterprise Solution for DB2 9 is written entirely in Java and runs on multiple platforms, including Windows, Linux, and Macintosh.
Justsystems first announced the beta version of xfy technology in November 2004. After much technical feedback and many favorable evaluations from experienced programmers and developers worldwide, Justsystems released xfy Basic Edition 1.0 in October 2005.
xfy Basic Edition 1.0 and xfy Developer's Toolkit 1.0 are available free for noncommercial individual or academic use.
